Cadence Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 24, 2026
The short version
Cadence reads your step data from Apple Health and keeps it on your devices. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app makes no network requests at all — there is nowhere for your data to go.
What Cadence reads from Apple Health
With your permission, Cadence reads three things from Apple Health: step count, walking and running distance, and flights climbed. It uses them only to show you your own totals, trends and goal progress.
Cadence never writes to Apple Health. Permission is asked for reading only, and you can withdraw it at any time in Settings → Apps → Health → Data Access & Devices.
The motion coprocessor
Cadence also asks for Motion & Fitness access so today's count can move as you walk rather than waiting for Health to write, which can lag by minutes. This reading comes from your device's own motion coprocessor and is used for nothing else.
Location
Cadence never asks for your location and contains no location code. Walk mode on Apple Watch runs a workout session so the app can stay on screen and count live, but that session records no route and is discarded when the walk ends. No workout is saved to Health.
Where your data lives
Your step history stays in Apple Health, which is Apple's, not ours. Cadence keeps a local cache of your recent days and your settings in a container shared between the app, its widgets and the Apple Watch app on your own devices. Deleting the app deletes all of it. Your Health data is unaffected.
What we collect
Nothing. We have no servers, no accounts and no analytics. We cannot see your steps, your goals or how you use the app, because none of it is ever sent anywhere.
Children
Cadence is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
