Cadence counts your steps and colours every day by how close you got. Red is under half, amber is on the way, green is done — and every chart, ring, widget and complication uses the same three, so you learn to read the day without reading a number.
Most step apps score your whole history against whatever goal you have set today. Raise your target and years of good days quietly turn red. Cadence keeps your goals as history: each day is judged against the goal that was actually in force on that day.
What it does
Your goal, when you had it
Change your goal today and nothing behind you changes. Backdate one, close it, start another — every past day keeps the target you were actually chasing.
Or let it choose
The adaptive goal is the median of your last thirty days, rounded to a hundred. It moves with you instead of shaming you.
Walk mode on your wrist
Live steps stay on screen for as long as you're walking. Raise your wrist and the count is already there, moving step by step rather than lurching when Health catches up. No GPS — a step count has no business knowing where you are.
Streaks that survive a day off
Six days running earns a rest day, so one missed day doesn't wipe out a year. Or switch to strict, if that's what keeps you honest.
The evening nudge
One reminder, at an hour you choose, and only while the goal is still out of reach. It tells you how far in minutes of walking, because that's a decision you can make.
Widgets everywhere
Rings, counts, heatmaps, streaks and distance for the Home Screen, the Lock Screen and every watch face slot — current without opening the app.
Cadence is coming soon.
